Family Vacation

Lennox went for his annual vacation with Jill's parents during the first week of August. This year they stayed in a condo in Lakeland and spent most of the week swimming, swimming, and swimming. Lennox's cousins, Holly and David, also went. He loves to play with them. On Monday mommy went down to stay for a few days too. When I got there Lennox was complaining of his ear hurting and we ended up taking him to an urgent car center. Diagnosis: swimmer's ear :-) He was perfectly fine for the rest of the week. We got him some meds and kept his ear out of the water when he went swimming. Mommy got to go with everyone to Busch Gardens. It was Lennox's first time there and mommy hadn't been there since college. Busch Gardens had some great kiddie rides. On Wednesday Lennox went back to Tampa with mommy to visit her old school, USF, and to visit a scrapbook store I had heard a lot about. Lennox loved "mommy's school." Lennox ended up staying for the entire week and mommy was able to have a little time in my classroom before pre-planning. He is such a big boy going off on trips by himself, but he loves spending time with his Den and Pop and Holly and David.

Football Baby!

Lennox has been officially indoctrinated into the football worship around here. It has been coming. Last week while mommy and daddy were at the game he watched it at home with his grandma and she taught him to say "Go Jaguars" and raise his hands up and yell "touchdown Jaguars." The next day we were out buying him his own jersey and he was begging to go to a "feefball game." We found some tickets for last night's game with the Dolphins. We figured a night game would be better and we were not sure how things would go so we didn't want to fork out a lot of money for a regular season game. It was all he could talk about all week. Last night we dressed up in our Jags gear and headed out. Lennox was in awe. When we got into the stadium and he saw the field for the first time he begged to go down and play and a long explanation about why we couldn't go down there ensued. Lennox had a pretzel and a coke and climbed up to his seats. He sat perfectly still the entire time watching and taking everything in. He did get a little scared during the fly over and he loved when the team came out and fireworks shot up. For us, it was one our most favorite nights with him because we could tell he loved every minute and there were lots of conversations with him about how one day he could play football. He has already got the tackling and throwing thing down. We did end up leaving in the third quarter when his tired little eyes could take no more. And today he has called every family member to tell them about his "feefball adventure."

Summer Highlights

Whew! The summer has flown by. Lennox and I have been busier than we are during the school year. Between all the cuddling, trips to the pool, the lake, Silver Springs, and the park we have been busy bees. Lennox has grown so much over the summer and has changed so much. Even though he will tell you he is still a baby, we know better. We have a Spiderman obsessed little boy climbing off furniture and learning to write his letters. Here are some of our summer highlights.

At Silver Springs with his bestest bud Kate. They sang  "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" on top of this barrel for the whole line waiting for the boat:

Dancing in the rain with Kate at Silver Springs. The socks and shoes were a muddy mess after this adventure:

At the lake house on a visit with Mama and Gran while the house was being tented for termites in Jacksovnille:

Sparklers on the fourth of July:

On a glass bottom boat on another Silver Springs trip:

Spiderman Underoos...woohoo:
Swimming lessons with Ms. Tanya. Lennox is quite the little fish, almost swimming under water on his own:

Later in the week I will have more pics and adventures to tell you about. Lennox just got back from a trip with his grandparents for a week and we went to Busch Gardens too.  We are all so bummed about going back to school around here. There is nothing like waking up and cuddling in bed with Lennox before we get up and get dressed. Mommy will miss that the most.
