We were about to welcome this little man into our world. Mama was on bedrest trying to hold him in. If we only knew then how our lives would change when our 4 pound, 9 ounce little buddy was born.  We certainly could have never imagined the immense joy that he would bring to us, or that our hearts would burst and expand with love and pride for our Lennox, more and more every day. That today we would love him more than we did a week ago and that next week we will love him more than today. That from then on every success or achievement would mean nothing if he wasn't happy. We never realized really how little sleep we would have from that point on, how many times we would bribe him with a piece of candy just to do something simple, or how many trips to Disney we would take with him. It is impossible to realize how your world will change before the day your child is born. So many days I miss my baby Lennox who used to constantly kick, kick, kick and eat his burpie rag and spin around in his exersaucer. But here he is almost 4, so grown up, so funny, so cool, so smart, and so his own little man. The coolest little dude I have or will ever know, telling me jokes about sweet potatoes, asking for robot arms for his birthday, and telling me over and over "Mama, I your best friend."  Thank you again baby Lennox for choosing us to share your growing up adventure with you.

I got a secret....

Mama was cuddling with Lennox trying to get him to bed tonight; I thought he was asleep. Then I heard this "Mama I have a secret for you" in the quietest most serious voice. "What Lennox?" He leaned over, pressed his face up in mine and said "Zurg is Buzz's father." That's my knucklehead.

Out of This World

I was just commenting to a friend the other day that our lives now revolve around outer space. It really seems like everything is about outer space, astronauts, storm troopers, space shuttles, and robot arms around here. We have a future rocket scientist/astronaut/pilot living with us. And believe me we hear all about it everyday. Last week Lennox asked mama how I could help him grow up. I asked why and he said it was because he needed to know how to grow up to be an astronaut. I told him I wasn't ready for him to grow up just yet and he said "But I don't know how mama. How do I grow up so I can be an astronaut." Of course I told him he was my baby, but that he needed to study science and outer space and do a good job in school :) So I have compiled a few pictures to illustrate the "out of this world" nature of our lives lately.

Point #1
Watching Star Wars is not nearly as much fun as playing with your Storm Trooper right at the exact moment there are Storm Troopers on the screen, or Darth Vader or R2D2. (our tv got hit by lightning and Lennox is suffering it out with the little DVD player).

Point #2
What else would you name a new cat but Jupiter.

Point #3
Aliens and a NASA hat make the perfect evening. And Lennox knows how to read NASA. So we officially have a few words down. And our vocabulary currently includes: crater, moon rock, moon rover, robot arm, aviation, and a bunch of other astronaut related words. "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" is a new fun phrase. And what else is an Uncrustable sandwich but a space ship.

Point #4
When you can't get a real rocket ship, make one, scoot it around on the floor, countdown, blast off, shake the box around, and pretend like you are floating around in the space ship weightless. And do it all while wearing the NASA hat and looking like the biggest boy ever!

End of the Year Singing Celebration

On Friday Lennox's school had their End of the Year Singing Celebration. All of our family came to see our little bugger sing. He was so adorable. When his class came up and started reciting a poem, Lennox stopped in the middle, saw mama, and yelled "Hi mom, hi!" Everyone laughed and said how cute that was. Then Lennox got back to his poem and then sang "Wake Up, Shake Up." Afterwards he hung out with Pop and Den, Oma and Opa, and Gran and had some ice cream. We are so proud of Lennox and how far he has come this school year. He has learned so much. I can't believe that in three weeks he will be 4. We are all so excited!

Little Picasso

Finally put the easel together that Lennox got for Christmas. We had to figure out where to put it. It was an all day event, putting it together and then painting and drawing on it too. Lennox's pictures are starting to take some shape. He has figured out how to draw a "man." And he has the letter L down. Of course the best way to create is in your astronaut costume :-)
