A Day at the Zoo...

After lunch today we visited the Zoo for some afternoon fun. Mommy was finally able to see the Komodo Dragon exhibit. Lennox did a lot of playing in the kids play area. Love the weekends!

When we got home, Lennox found some baseball on tv and insisted that we explain every minute of it in detail. Mommy and daddy are in for it with the baseball thing. We know NOTHING :-)

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Mommy went to a Suns Baseball game on Monday with her school. It was a great time. So we decided to take our little buddy to the Friday night game against the West Tennessee DiamondJaxx. We got seats near the home dugout and got there a little early to check things out.

Lennox chose these two souvenirs. A SouthPaw Foam Paw (that is the team mascot) and a squeeze ball.

Then as we were taking pictures one of the ushers came up to us and Mark told him that it was Lennox's first game. The usher explained that he always picked one little boy or girl to give an official practice ball to. And he gave it to Lennox :-)

We had some more fun on our way to the concession stand, ate some hot dogs, cotton candy, and a pretzel.

Then the usher pulled us over before the game to get one of the players to sign the ball. Lorenzo Scott signed it for Lennox and took a picture with him.

Then at the beginning of the game Lennox got a visit from SouthPaw who jumped into the stands :-)

Then the game fun began. This is Lorenzo Scott at bat. Lennox loved every minute of it. It was a cold and chilly night. Lennox wanted us to explain everything that was going on in the game. He kept asking who was up to bat and what number they were. He loved all the music, and danced around in the seat everytime music played when a player went up to bat. Turns out we have a little boy who loves baseball. Who would have known? We never watch baseball around here. Lennox asked for a bat and a ball for his birthday and cried when we left (a little early because it was freezing). We will definitely be back again. The games are reasonably priced and we think Lennox likes it better than football games. Probably because he can get closer and see what is going on.

It was a fabulous night for Lennox's first baseball game. So exciting for him. He got to see so many new things. We are all tuckered out and headed for bed!

Easter...

For the last few days all Lennox has been talking about is how the Easter Bunny might bring him the Space Chimps movie. Lennox woke up to find it (after the Easter Bunny made a last minute trip to buy it after they realized Lennox REALLY did want it). This year we upgraded to a larger basket. All the better to fill with yummy candy and treats and toys. Some of Lennox's favorites from this year's basket were the Space Chimps movie, the stuffed Peter Rabbit, and the chocolate Peter Rabbit. Lennox was so excited to run downstairs on Easter morning and see his goodies.

Dobby helped him check it out of course.

We went to brunch at Mark's parents and lunch/dinner at Jill's parents. Then we left our little man with his Den and Pop for his Spring Break vacation with them and his two cousins in Daytona. Mommy and daddy don't know what to do with themselves for almost a week while he is away. Already we miss our little bugger and it is only day 1. I mean, how could you not miss this adorable little man...

Twas the Day Before Easter...

And we were hippity-hopping around getting ready for the Easter Bunny. This morning an egg hunt in our neighborhood. Lennox racked up :-)

And tonight dyeing eggs with mama and daddy. Lots of fun! Lennox is a master at egg dyeing already. Now we just wait...for Peter Cottontail to visit us tonight. Lennox is very excited!

Lennox and Mommy are home from school today and Daddy took a sick day to hang out with us. We went to visit the Easter Bunny at the mall. Last year, Lennox would not go sit with him alone. This year, he was all about it. Adorable. And he got these cool bunny ears from him!

Birthday Fun

Two birthday parties this weekend. Lennox's cousin Emma and Oma. Both born on April 4. What could be more fun than two parties in one day, two helpings of cake, and an entire day of family and friends. Emma had her 2nd birthday at the Hands On Museum. Lots of fun stuff to do there. There was a ball pit, wooden trains, costumes galore, puppets, etc.

Then we went to PF Chang's for a birthday lunch with Oma. Followed by a surprise party for Oma at our house. Lennox hung out with his cousins and showed off his Dobby-Do.

And he was a great present opener helper for Oma.

Rocket Ship Room

Finally I got a few pics of the "Rocket Ship Room" as Lennox calls it. We are slowly adding bits and pieces to the room, decorating as we go along. So far here are the basics. This is some vinyl wall art I bought on Etsy. It was originally just the rocket ship, but I had the designer add the words "Reach for the stars..." I figured it was the perfect statement to put on the wall of the Rocket Ship room and it is a favorite phrase from Toy Story. We love this wall now!

Here is the big boy bed. Lennox's crib converted into the double bed frame. We got Lennox a comfy bed to last him a long long time, and comfy enough for mommy and daddy to crash in occasionally if needed. The bedding is from Land of Nod. Lennox is already learning where the planets are on the quilt and talks about the moons for each planet too. The rocket ship painting above is from Etsy. The Snoopy Astronaut was picked up at Hallmark recently. And of course you can see Peter Rabbit books in the corner, Lennox's new favorite character :-)

Lennox is still working on the transition to the bed. He does ok getting to sleep in the bed. We usually have to sit nearby in the hallway until he falls asleep or rub his back. But inevitably he wakes up in the middle of the night and we cannot get him back to sleep. We are all exhausted and sleeping with him more often than we would like just to get some rest. We are hoping that Lennox will eventually get used to the bed and stay in it overnight. Cross your fingers for us. We all need our sleep!
