"My Big School"

Lennox made a big move today to a "big school" as he calls it. After a lot of soul searching we decided that the school Lennox had been at since he was 16 months old was not working anymore. There were changes in staff, his classroom was so small, and he didn't seem engaged or happy. So mommy went on a hunt and we decided on a small church school by my work: St. John's Presbyterian Preschool. It is literally blocks away from mommy's work. It has been there for 50 years and we have been so impressed already. For the last few years daddy has been taking Lennox to school and mommy picks him up. But now mommy is doing both. It will take some getting used to, but I already enjoyed the time spent in the car this morning and afternoon as I dropped and picked him up. He is such a delight to be around and such a sweet face to spend time with in the morning before I head to work.

Lennox is in the older three's room with two teachers. He has music three times a week and they do lots of art activities along with centers, reading time, and strengthening his fine motor skills. We have to take two snacks each day and I let Lennox pick them out. Today it was goldfish and applesauce:-)

This morning was pretty rough. Lennox was a little teary when we left. I called three times during the morning to check on him and each time he was doing perfectly and fitting in well. When I picked him up at the end of the day he was out on the playground eating his afternoon snack. He was so excited to tell me all about his day. He brought home a small apple because they are learning about the fall. I am so proud of him and hoping tomorrow goes just as well for him :-)

It's Not Halloween Yet...

But Spiderman is in the house slinging webs and jumping off furniture.

And this is the song he sings:

Spiderman, Spiderman
Does whatever a spider can
Catches thieves, just like me
Here comes Spiderman!

He- Cot

Yesterday we took a spur of the moment trip to He-Cot (that is what Lennox calls Epcot). On Friday, Den and Pop called and invited us to go down to Orlando with them. We packed up quickly and headed down. On Saturday morning we got up early to go straight to Epcot with Den and Pop and Lennox's cousins, Holly and David. Lennox showed everyone what a Disney pro he was by directing everyone around. He had so much fun going on rides with his cousins. We had lunch in Mexico and dessert in France, where Lennox devoured an eclair. He also had some great fun with a giant lolli-pop. He was good and sugared up and was such a trooper. We left around 5:30 and we had done every ride and mommy and daddy got to go on some rides that we don't usually get to do because Lennox is too little for them. At the end of the day he picked out a toy and decided on a German Mickey Mouse. So appropriate for our little German baby :-) It was such a fun day and next week we are headed back for the Not So Scary Halloween Bash.

Having Fun at Home!

Lennox loves some watermelon!

And coloring, especially when he is drawing Spiderman!

And there is nothing better than dancing around in your underwear, Spiderman slippers, and your faithful dog!

Lennox Spiderman

Someone is just a little obsessed with Spiderman :) He has even started to introduce himself as Lennox Spiderman.

Baby Lennox Scrapbooks

One of the many reasons that I scrapbook. Lennox loves to look through his pictures and talk about when he was a tiny baby and tell me all about his silly adventures. I can hardly keep the scrapbooks on the shelf where they belong :-)

Big Boy Stuff

Lennox is officially, completely, and totally potty trained. He loves it. We are so proud of him. He has done so good. He will only wear Spiderman underwear though. He is Spiderman obsessed. We still can not believe that he is three and growing up and doing all kinds of big boy stuff.
He started school on Aug 19. He has art and music everyday and tumbling once a week. We have also signed him up for Karate on Fridays. He will be getting a little uniform and everything. We asked him what he did in Karate and he said "hit stuff." In tumbling, he pretends that he is Superman and jumps off foam boxes and crawls through tunnels. He can now write his name pretty good.
We went to the doctor at the end of August too and Lennox is in the 97th percentile on his height and weight. It seems so weird to us considering he was such a tiny little baby. I think he is football bound. Yesterday we asked him what he wanted to be when he got big and he said "football."
There has also been a new little obsession around here and that is watching his baby movies. It started during the hurricane days when mommy and Lennox were home all day. He watches them almost every day. We think maybe he is realizing his baby years are over. For a few days he was doing the whining baby thing and we figured it was from watching the baby movies. Thank goodness that did not last long.
Some of his new favorite phrases are "that's great," "mommy you cute," and "that's delicious." Such big boy words :-) We can not wait until the first weekend in October when we head to the Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney. Lennox will be Spiderman, of course. He walks around here practicing the web slinging with sound effects and everything. All boy I tell you :-)
