Remembering

Going through some old photos last night and took a little trip down memory lane. In about a month Lennox will be three. By far this is the most fun age that we have experienced with him, but looking at his baby pics makes me long for some baby Lennox time. Thank goodness for pictures...I had forgotten some important things which we captured in pictures. Like when he would stare at our red pillow with the gold stars on it that sat on our couch and the way he used to go crazy over his Ocean Wonders Aquarium swing. It reminded me of our morning routine. Getting up and having a bottle in mommy's big bed, while I was still trying to wake up. Then we read Goodnight Moon and How Do I Love You. Mommy would shower while Lennox was in his crib playing under his mobile and talking endlessly to it. The rest of the morning was spent cuddling, watching Baby Einstein, tummy time on the floor, swinging, errands and playdates. It seems like ages ago. Now here we are trying to potty train and planning a 3rd birthday party. We are extraordinarly lucky to have our little Buggy in our lives :-)

I am thankful!

Baby Lennox (well you are not so much of a baby anymore, I am coming to terms with that), I am thankful for you.

So thankful that you would prefer a book to a game...

Thankful that you are a cuddle bum...

And that you can already be serious and silly, and know when to be one or the other...

Thankful that you hum and sing and get goofy each day after school, you must know to do that to help mommy relax after a long day...

I am thankful that you have shown me how important it is to play...

I am thankful that you always "need a hug or a kiss"...

And thankful for the way you rub my face when we are laying down together for a nap and how you say "aww my mommy"...

I am thankful for the way you love everyone, especially your Den and Pop and Oma and Opa, Gran, and your YeeYee, you make them all very happy...

I am thankful for the way you have realized how nice it can be to snuggle up under a Mommy Reese blanket...
I am thankful that you let me take me as many pictures of you as my heart desires, and how you immediately want to see them on the camera screen...

I am thankful that you still want to rock in the rocking chair and hear made up stories before bed...

And most of all I am thankful that you chose us, up in Heaven your little soul picked me to your mommy. I hope I live up to your expectations little buddy.

Way to make my Monday buddy!

Mondays stink...there is no way around that. Mommy and Daddy hate going back to work, Lennox hates going back to school, Dobby hates being left at home all day alone. We all drag on Mondays. Lennox wants to lay in bed and not get dressed. He watches the Wiggles and snuggles under the covers and tells us "I sleeping" It is a battle to get him dressed and the hair combed and the dog out and the lunches made. But, then our sweetie does something to make the Monday bearable. Today as I was walking out to my car, Lennox opened the front door and screamed "I need a kiss mommy." I turned around and he ran around the corner with a big sloppy wet kiss for mommy. You don't know it little Lennox, but you inspire me to do better and I am grateful for the small beautiful ways you make my days sweet.

The best endings...

There is no better way to end your day than cuddling up with Lennox. Lately, he has wanted to "wock for a minute" before he lays down in bed. We climb into his antique rocking chair and rock. We bought it before I was even pregnant knowing it would be in our baby's room one day. I tell Lennox all about the next day and how proud I am to be his mama. I go over the days events. Yesterday we talked about his bike ride around the neighborhood and his late walk with daddy to the park where he found a baseball. He wouldn't take the baseball with him because he said it was supposed to stay there :-) I rock and remind him that I will always love him and that I hope he always wants to cuddle with his mommy. Then he quietly lays down on his Cars pillow and snuggles up with his duck blanket and a toy. Each night as I leave the room he calls out to me or Mark "I love you mommy/daddy." And as we walk down the hall we go back and forth telling one another that we love each other and so our day ends...

Disney Freaks

Yep...we are Disney Freaks and proud of it. Last week we went to Orlando for a long Disney weekend (and excursion to Ikea for mommy). On Friday we joined all of Mark's family at Epcot. It was a scorching hot day, but they were having the Flower Festival and Lennox got to play in a Peter Pan garden which he was so happy about. That night we went to Downtown Disney and Lennox could not stop talking about the giant Lego Dragon he saw there for the whole weekend. On Saturday we got up early and headed to Magic Kingdom. Lennox is really into Goofy lately. He is pretty funny :-) We made it through 8 rides before noon and between rides Lennox was calling Buzz on his Buzz Lightyear telephone to tell him what we were doing. Some of the highlights of the day were Lennox riding the race cars for the first time with daddy, a very messy ice cream break, and we discovered that Lennox loves turkey legs. He ate almost an entire one. We headed back to the hotel for a nap that afternoon, missed all the rain, and went back that night to see the light parade which none of us had ever seen. We were all pooped by the time we went to bed at almost midnight. Sunday was mama's day. Lennox braved a two hour trip to Ikea so mommy could pick out furniture for her scrapbook room and we found the best Omelet place ever. Today on the way to school Lennox found the room key holder which had Mickey ears on it and had to carry it into school. Our little dude loves some Disney and we love taking him there :-)
