Once Upon a Potty

One day Lennox will kill me for this post. But, today was one of those big boy days around here. I hate the moments when I realize Lennox is growing up. It is hard on us :-( Last week he went "pee-pee" on the potty at school, the first time ever. We have been not really pushing it. Occasionally he will sit on the potty and want to flush it, but he never goes. So mommy bought him so big boy underwear, Thomas the Train and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, to entice him. And we got the Once Upon a Potty book and DVD. That is now his favorite book. Tonight he wanted to read it over and over again and we decided to plop him on the potty while we read. Lennox thought it was all so funny. He never actually went though. Then we let him try on his big boy underwear. He loved them. Loved them. He kept saying "I like my underwear" and we had to call everyone to tell them about them. Then after his bath when I put a diaper on him for the night he was not happy. He wanted the underwear back and it was so hard to explain to him that he couldn't wear them overnight. So everyone keep your fingers crossed that the potty training thing will happen soon :-)

Easter 2008

This Easter Lennox woke up and knew exactly who had come to visit him. The Easter Bunny left a basket full of goodies, finally some Lennox is old enough for Easter candy too...yummy :-)
He got a Ratatouille toy, bathing suit, sunglasses, coloring books, and some Hot Wheels. The Easter Bunny knew exactly what he needed. We also did an Easter Egg Hunt at Oma and Opa's before heading to Den and Pop's where the Easter Bunny had also left him some goodies, Lennox's favorite, some books.

Army Men

Daddy got Lennox a fun new bag of toys today. A whole bag of 55 Army men and two tanks. I think it was more for daddy to play with too :-) Lennox calls them "Woody and Buzz" because there are army men on Toy Story. He spent a long time lining them all up on his table and singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" because he thought the tanks were boats. Daddy, of course, played and played with him too.

Easter Bunny

Last night we took Lennox to see the Easter Bunny. He talked and talked about it all the way over to the mall and when we got there he wouldn't go near him. The first picture above is our first attempt at making contact with the Easter Bunny. Finally we got him to walk up next to him and the Easter Bunny danced for him which made Lennox a little more comfortable and we made it up to take a picture. But, mommy had to be in it with him.

Playing with Cousins

Last night we went to Palm Coast for Lennox's cousin's birthday party. Den and Pop got all the babies bicycles and Lennox had fun riding with Holly and David. He is learning to pedal pretty good. We played in the yard, opened presents, and ate cake. Lennox was up until 11pm. He usually goes to bed at 8pm so you can imagine how tired he was today and he had another long day at the lakehouse.

Easter Play

Yesterday we went to an Easter Egg Hunt in our neighborhood park. Lennox could not stop talking about seeing the Easter Bunny when we got there. Then he wouldn't even go up to him. He preferred to talk to him and wave from a distance. He did have fun playing in balloons and then he took a picture with the Easter Bunny while Aunt Yee-Yee held him. We decorated our picture at a craft table. Lennox helped me pick out what stickers he wanted to include. We ended up with a very full picture :-)

Beautiful, Beautiful Morning

It is Friday! The week is over. Mommy is finally feeling better. We are working on getting Daddy better. Lennox has been a trooper while I laid around on the couch all week. Turning into such a little man. Such a big helper. And such a sweet soul, as usual. At the moment we are trying to wean mommy off the baby monitor. Lennox is almost three. He sleeps through the night, as long as he doesn't loose a toy from his bed. Mommy still worries about him at night. I hate to hear him whimper, even though I know I should let him be and put himself back to sleep. Last night we had no monitor on. But at 6:30 this morning, I could hear him crying for mommy. It must be mommy-radar. I ran into his room to find him standing up and saying "get out." Mark and I usually don't get up until 6:45, but I took him into bed with us. He laid on my pillow and said "mommy lay down." I laid my head next to him and his sweet little arms wrapped around me. He rubbed my face saying "my mommy." He kissed me over and over again. Asked for "covers" and "my hug, my hug." He whispered I love you in my ear. It was such a sweet tender moment. We are so lucky to have our little buddy. He is such a good soul, so thoughtful, and careful, and affectionate. I worry that one day he will be too cool to cuddle with mama and too cool to kiss me in public and too cool to spend some time in mommy and daddy's bed waking up in the morning and watching The Wiggles. I am trying really hard to cherish all these moments with him and remember the way he looked and how his soft his hands are, and how tender his little whispers are. After such a stressful week and so much feeling sick it was so nice to awake to this today. Puts me in such an excited mood for the upcoming weekend and more fun adventures with my little buddy.

OK?

Lennox has a few new phrases. He is getting such a personality. One of his new favorite things to say is "Ok?" He will ask us a question and add an "ok" at the end. He draws out the "k" with a little twang. He has also gotten used to calling us "guys" so we get a lot of "come on guys." It is so adorable.
