Busy Baby

We have had a big weekend. Daddy got sick on Friday and so we did not make it down to Disney. We will head down this next weekend instead. But, Lennox was still a busy baby. We spent a lot of time at home, coloring, watching Toy Story, and napping. On Saturday, Springfield (our neighborhood) had a Dog Days in the Park event at the park up the street. Lennox got to play in a giant bouncy blowup thing which he loved. On Sunday, Daddy felt well enough to head to the zoo. Lennox played in the water park and ran through the mazes in the play park. He had some messy fun tonight with his dinner as you can see from the pics.

A Week in the Life

Whew...what a busy few weeks. Last week Lennox got really sick with a high fever. He had a virus. Daddy stayed home with him one day and then he was with his Poppy (Jill's dad) for one day. He is now on allergy medication. The cough was not letting up. He gets Singulair in the morning and Zyrtec at night and it is helping a little. We have to mix the Singulair with milk in the morning which is a little tricky. We only have 15 minutes for him to finish his sippy cup. We had a nice relaxing weekend at home and on Monday Lennox was back to his typical self.
This week mommy has been documenting our every day life for a scrapbook album I am doing at a convention in two weeks. Saturday Lennox got a real Buzz Lightyear. We had wanted to wait for Christmas for this, but we turned down the wrong aisle in Toys'R'Us and that was the end of that. He has been obsessed with the "big Buzz." The first night he slept with him with a death grip. Now he is one of his many bedtime buddies. One night he woke up crying for Buzz, not for mommy or daddy. We have to hide it each morning so it doesn't end up with him at school.

Sunday we did lunch with gran and then played with her remote control Hummer. Tuesday we did a dinner playdate at Gators. Tonight Mark's parents returned from Germany. I got some of these cute pics of Lennox on our front porch steps before we left. I captured some pure Lennox faces :-) Saturday we are headed to Disney to meet Buzz. I think mommy and daddy are the most excited.

Lennox also had an open house at his school last week. We learned we have a different baby at home than at school. Two people who are not his teachers stopped to tell us how smart Lennox was so we were so proud.

We are the family of theme park, museum, and zoo passes :-) Mark can never pass up an annual pass at a place that Lennox loves to visit. And my boys love to be on the go, so we are out and about almost every weekend enjoying our passes and having family time. This weekend we visited the zoo. On Lennox's first trip to the zoo, he had some pics taken of him with the giraffes (check out the pic above, he has grown so much), now he is old enough to feed them. He loved watching their long tongues and giggling and laughing while he fed them. In his typical Lennox style, he danced while we waited in line for our turn to feed them. We also visited the petting zoo. (I think Daddy loved the pygmy goats the most, haha). Lennox was a little uneasy with all of them at first, but warmed up to them after awhile. He better get used to them because daddy plans on buying a bunch of them when we move into a house with some land :-)

The weather was scorching this weekend, and we only stayed for a little bit. Next week we will be back to enjoy the water park at the zoo one last time for the season.

Another Disney Adventure!

We were so happy to be back at Disney this weekend. We went down on Sunday and Monday thinking that those days wouldn't be too crowded, and boy were we right. Monday was dead at Magic Kingdom.

Disney is more and more fun each time we go, and especially now that Lennox knows and loves all the characters. Of course Lennox did his signature "Disney World" scream when we drove through the Disney arch at the main entrance. First, we went to Epcot and rode the Nemo ride. Lennox got off the ride and said "I love Nemo." Then we did lunch in Mexico and a few more rides. We were tuckered out and headed back to the hotel for naps. Mommy came out of the hotel bathroom to find the boys cuddled in bed with no shirts on. Mark said when he laid down, Lennox started pulling at his shirt, saying "shirt, shirt." So Mark took his shirt off and then he wanted his pants and socks off too to look just like daddy. It was the funniest image ever. I wish I had the camera, but I had left it in the car. Like father, like son :-)

We headed back to the Magic Kingdom that evening and went first to see Buzz Lightyear. Lennox was so excited in line, he started dancing. He loves Woody and Buzz. He was memorized with the giant Buzz at the entrance to the ride. Lennox chowed down on some funnel cake and we stayed late for the fireworks which were amazing, but it was hard to keep Lennox up and he got silly tired.

Monday morning we headed back to Magic Kingdom to finish up on some favorite rides, like Peter Pan. Lennox was upset because we had bought him some Disney Crocs the day before and they were a little too big for him to wear in the park. We saw Woody dancing in the street, but he wouldn't stop to visit which we were super disappointed about. Lennox has figured out that a lot of the rides at Disney are boats and so now when we walk past a ride, he either says "boat, boat" or "ride." Monday was so hot, we left in the afternoon around naptime. Lennox talked about Buzz for a long time in the car.

We will be back again this month and in October we are heading down there for the Johnny and the Sprites concert. Disney is doing a series of preschool concerts with characters from Disney Playhouse shows. We might try to see the Doodlebops also. We love, love, love our Disney passes :-)

Little Genius

On Saturday, we were all driving home from the store when Lennox did something that made Mark and I tear up and almost pull over to the side of the road. We heard him the backseat counting. As I have already said in my posts, he can count to 10. Well, all of a sudden we hear 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. Every number as clear as day! Mark and I stopped between every number holding our breath, waiting to hear the next number. We were so excited and started clapping and shouting in the car. Lennox had a giant grin on his face. So sweet. We have known from day one that our Lennox was super smart, but it is always nice to have some reassurance, especially like this.

This weekend we went to Disney World. So much fun. I will post the pics tomorrow. Tonight we went out to dinner with my grandmother, "gran" to Lennox. He showed off his smart stuff for her, singing the ABC's in the car, along with "Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee," "Wheels on the Bus," and "Five Little Monkeys." He was a perfect angel at dinner, reading a book with mommy. Dr. Seuss' There's a Wocket in My Pocket. He recited the book with me and we haven't even read it that many times. We are constantly amazed at what he knows! Then he cuddled with gran while daddy worked on gran's computer. He was tuckered out this evening. Already two weeks into school and he has a cold and a nasty cough again. My poor croupy baby. We are hoping it passes quickly!
